Very early, every morning till noon all 5 packs of the SAWA Refuge become one.... Most of the 4-legged residents will just follow us around in our daily chores and usually will find ways to grab our attention... while others mingle with their buddies from other quarters and of course we have those patiently waiting by the gate for our wonderful dog walker volunteers Rob and Nancy to give them a run to the beach. This beautiful morning was long awaited after an endless period of bad weather so everyone is excited with the sun's return! Also introducing a short visit to PointerVille the hunting dogs quarters. Enjoy!
If you are planning to visit the SAWA shelter and are interested in bringing some gifts that the stray dogs and refuge donkeys would love to receive, here are some ideas:
- Bread, vegetables, fruit or hay
- Dry or canned dog food
- Dog/ horse biscuits or treats
- Flee sprays/ ampoules
- De-worming pills
- Dog collars/ leashes (used or new)
- Dog toys (used or new)
- MOST IMPORTANT: Humane Volunteers for petting, hugging, playing, grooming, or walking to the beach!
